FTF 2024

About the Event

The FTF is an annual event organized by the KINDI Center for Computing Research at Qatar University to gather scholars, policymakers and industrial actors to present and discuss the latest innovations and practices in the rapidly growing areas of AI and Cybersecurity.

The FTF2024 edition will focus the theme of “Digital Transformation”, an important objective of the National Vision of Qatar (QNV) towards the digitalization of its society and economy, and is organized in conjunction with the International conference WISE 2024, a leading conference in the area of Digital transformation.

FTF2024 is a special edition as it offers a rich and special program made of thought provoking keynotes by very distinguished speakers, panels, a national competition for the best projects contributing to the digital transformation journey of Qatar, and students’ competitions.

The “Digital Transformation Awards” Competition – Call for project nominations:

Over the last decade, Qatar has made tremendous progress towards achieving its national vision (QNV) by embracing and extending the newest digital technologies to drive its competitiveness and prosperity. To contribute to that vision, the government, the industry and academia in Qatar have led, implemented and planned many ambitious projects that have actively contributed to the digital transformation journey of Qatar.

The competition welcomes Information Technology (IT) projects from the government, the industry and academia in Qatar to compete in three award categories:

  • The most innovative DT Governmental Project: This track welcomes nominations of past or ongoing projects led by the governmental agencies and entities.
  • The most innovative DT Industrial Project: This track welcomes nominations of past or ongoing projects led by companies and industrial actors.
  • The most innovative DT R&D Project: This track welcomes nominations of past or ongoing R&D projects led by research organizations in Qatar.

Projects in all tracks will be evaluated by an international jury of IT experts. Criteria include:

  • The innovation of the project in terms of ideas, use of new technologies, e.g. AI, IoT, etc.
  • The impact of the project on the society and people lives.
  • The relevance of the project to the priority areas of QNV.

To participate, send us a description of your project (2 pages maximum) detailing how your project contributes to the digital transformation of Qatar, its impact and innovation.

All submitted projects will have be invited for presentation as posters in the opening ceremony of the Fourth International Congress of Technology and Engineering organized by Qatar University and will be visible to the congress distinguished attendees. The best projects will be selected by the jury, and then congress attendees will vote to the best three projects that will be awarded.
