PhD Symposium – Call for Papers
The PhD Symposium of the WISE Conference 2024 welcomes submissions from PhD students on their ongoing research works in the broad areas of the Web, Data Management and Information systems, AI, Cybersecurity (please refer to the conference web page for the complete List). We are particularly interested in submissions focusing on research areas that aim to maximize the positive impact of the Web (and its underlying information systems) on the society and touch the lives of people in important ways.
Why WISE2024 PhD Symposium is especially useful for students? :
- Students will have the opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing research works and receive concrete feedback from experienced researchers and top scholars from Microsoft, Google, Facebook and others.
- Students will meet with actors from the IT industry in Qatar and overseas in during the organized industrial exhibition.
- Inclusion of best papers in prestigious journals including Springer WWW, Computing, TWEB, etc.
Important Dates:
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: Extended to 30 September 2024
- Acceptance/Rejection Notification: 10 October, 2024
- Camera-Ready Files Submission Deadline: 15 October, 2024
Eligibility:
The PhD Symposium welcomes all PhD students. PhD students in the early stages of their PhD work should state clearly their addressed research problem and give the traits of the solutions they would like to explore. PhD students in advanced stages of their work are also welcome to present their works and get constructive feedback to fine-tune their solutions.
Submission Guidelines:
Papers should be submitted in PDF format. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer’s LNCS format and should not exceed 15 pages, including all text, figures, references, and appendices. Submissions not conforming to the LNCS format, exceeding 15 pages, or being obviously out of the scope of the conference, will be rejected without review. Information about the Springer LNCS format can be found at Springer. Three to five keywords characterizing the paper should be indicated at the end of the abstract.
